This howto explains how to install and set up Aiccu on Gentoo Linux.

Installing Aiccu

Make sure you have TUN/TAP suppport built into your kernel. Check your .config for


Gentoo provides an ebuild for Aiccu, so installing it can easily be done by

 sudo emerge aiccu

Starting Aiccu

You can start Aiccu using its init-script:

 sudo /etc/init.d/aiccu start

You probably want to start Aiccu automatically:

 sudo rc-update add aiccu default

IPv6 Routing

# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding
# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/default/forwarding
# sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding=1
# sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.default.forwarding=1

Activate permanently

#echo "net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding=1" >> /etc/sysctl.conf 
#echo "net.ipv6.conf.default.forwarding=1" >> /etc/sysctl.conf 

('all' sets it for all current interfaces, 'default' set the default for new interfaces)
